Job Description:

MODIS seeks  junior data analyst with SQL and VBA experience.  This is for a contract job in Rockville, MD.
 
Job Summary:
Looking for an energetic, motivated individual who is expected to perform data analysis and adhoc reporting using SQL. The individual is also expected to provide superior DB application and operational support to internal and external users; and ensure that problems are resolved in an effective and efficient manner. This individual is also responsible for maintaining data quality by reviewing exception and system status reports and resolve data anomalies.
 
Essential Job Functions:
•           Generating necessary reports and spreadsheets to complete billing reconciliations
•           Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases is essential.
•           Ability to maintain and enhance Access Databases using VBA.
•           Ability to work in the C# .NET framework to maintain existing applications.
•           Load data into system by executing scripts.
•           Monitor system logs and status reports and spot problems and trends.
•           Initiate system change requests; and conduct production and acceptance testing of system changes.
•           Maintain an in-depth understanding of the systems and their functioning.
•           Interacting with technology on a daily basis to ensure operational work processes are executed for each product accurately and efficiently as scheduled; modifying and updating procedural requirements based on new system functionality

•           Data/Analytical position (i.e. love for numbers and data), leveraging a broad range of research and analytics.
•           Must demonstrate attention to detail, ability to multitask, consistent productivity, sound judgment, and proven organizational skills.
•           Respond promptly and professionally to business, vendor or client requests or inquiries
•           Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a strong familiarity with Window-based computer applications are essential.  
•           Ability to work with sensitive and confidential material.  
•           Ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple, changing priorities.
 
Education:
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience preferred.
